Elaine Glynn

Elaine Glynn has always had a strong interest in pottery.  She especially enjoys the decorative components of working with clay, such as carving, painting and more recently working with gold lustres. Colour is also a very important aspect of her work and she is always looking for that element of surprise in each piece.

There is something very special about being able to work in a craft that is centuries old ….to see the pleasure a simple bowl can give, whether it is just being held, or used to serve delicious food to friends and family.

Elaine studied Fine Arts in University, but as a Potter, she is essentially self-taught.  She will continue to grow by improving her throwing technique and by experimenting with colour, metallic lustres and texture.  Future work will include decals and the layering of images.

The following pieces are examples of Elaine's work and are not for sale online.
