Khaled grew up in a creative environment with self-made artist parents who were always working with their hands. His father was a talented woodworker, carver, designer and builder, and his mother excelled in a wide range of textile arts. He initially trained as a cabinet maker and taught himself the art of wooden bowl-turning, then discovered pottery later in life while searching for a new creative outlet. He has been working with ceramics since 2011.
Inspired by a range of sources, including Japanese pottery and visual art, Khaled strives to create pieces that are simultaneously highly functional and visually pleasing.
