A perfectly good reason and opportunity to dirty her hands.
In 2001 while still working, Lauren MacRae took classes at The Potter’s Studio where she learned techniques and interacted with teachers and other potters. She enjoyed the idea of creating ceramic pieces, whether hand built or wheel thrown, and became a member of the Studio in 2004.
Since retirement in December 2008, she has had time to devote to the craft and growth in pottery. Her pieces are primarily hand built using textures to emboss surfaces and are individually crafted, which allows each piece to be unique reflecting her artistic interests. The result is one-of-a-kind decorative and functional pieces for use, display or gift giving.
