Penny Parnes has always loved pottery, both owning it and watching potters throw clay on the wheel. It seems like magic how, from a lump of clay and a wheel, a pot can take shape. She wanted so much to be able to do that.
Penny started potting around 2000 as a way to deal with a difficult event in her life. After taking classes and working elsewhere, she became a member of The Potter’s Studio in 2003.
While she loves hand-built pieces and finds their organic nature very appealing, she is essentially a wheel-based potter. Her time at the studio is always peaceful and creative.
