We Believe in Building Partnerships with Local Communities

As a community ourselves, we believe in supporting the communities and neighbourhoods around us.
We have applied and were success receiving a government grant to offer free workshops to not-for-profit groups.
Every year, a portion of our sales are donated to a local charity.

  • “Seize the Clay”, A Spark Partnership Project

Cultural Hotspot was conceived more than ten years ago by the City of Toronto to highlight the Arts outside of the downtown area. The Potter’s Studio applied for and received a grant through the Spark Partnership Project to develop programming that supported and enhanced arts in the community.

In 2022, the Potter’s Studio partnered with the North York Women’s Shelter. Using clay, participants were able to sculpt and hand-build items for their own use.

  • The Potter’s Studio partnered with The Neighbourhood Organization to work with a Violence Against Women group. Volunteers from The Potter’s Studio organized a series of clay workshops where women develop hand-building skills using clay.

Hands-on activities using clay have proven to promotes creativity, self-awareness, and reduce anxiety.

The Potter’s Studio wants to thank the City of Toronto and the Spark Partnership Project for the opportunities to celebrate, promote and grow community arts in our neighbourhood.

  • Feed Scarborough

The Potter’s Studio is proud to support Feed Scarborough and its Scarborough Food Security Initiative. We accept donations of canned goods at our Bi-annual Shows and Sale and donate a portion of the revenue from sales to them.
